Who Orders Custom Mascot Plush
A mascot is the one asset every fan, student and employee already recognises. Putting it in their hands as a plush turns recognition into loyalty — and, for most of our clients, into merchandise revenue.
Sports Teams & Leagues
Team-store best-sellers and match-day giveaways. Jersey colours matched to Pantone, sponsor logos and player numbers embroidered, and playoff or anniversary editions produced in short runs of 500.
Schools & Universities
Campus bookstores, alumni gift boxes, orientation packs and fundraisers. A plush version of the school mascot outsells almost every other spirit item at the same price point.
Companies & Brands
Company mascots for onboarding kits, client gifts and trade-show booths. Your brand character in plush is the one giveaway that stays on the desk instead of going in the bin.
Events, Festivals & Conventions
Commemorative merchandise for music festivals, marathons, expos and conventions. Event dates and locations embroidered so each year’s edition becomes a collectible.
Nonprofits & Campaigns
Charity mascots and awareness characters as donor thank-yous, fundraising items and comfort toys for children. See our page on plush for charities and nonprofits.
Restaurants, Retail & Tourism
Food-chain mascots, shop characters, zoo and museum animals, city and airport souvenirs — retail-ready with hang tags, barcodes and display packaging.
From 2D Mascot to 3D Plush: How the Translation Works
A flat logo does not automatically make a good plush. Getting there is a design job, and it is the part of the process most factories skip. Here is how we do it.
1. Design analysis
We study your mascot from every angle and list what must survive the move to fabric: head-to-body ratio, eye shape, signature colours, accessories, pose. Then we decide what to simplify — thin lines and tiny details that will not read at 25 cm.
2. Pattern & technique
Our pattern makers build the 3D form and choose how each feature is made: embroidered, appliquéd or printed face; sewn-in versus removable accessories; weighted base so it sits upright. You get a turnaround drawing to approve before anything is cut.
3. Sample in 7–10 days
A physical sample, photographed from all sides and then shipped to you. Two to three rounds of revisions are included — nudging eye placement, fixing a colour, changing the smile — until it is your mascot.
4. Bulk production
Once you sign off, every unit is checked against your approved sample through 40–45 days of production, four metal-detection passes and final AQL inspection at our factory in Dongguan.
What we need from you
- A vector logo or character sheet (AI, PDF, PNG) — or a sketch, or photos of the costumed mascot
- Pantone references or fabric swatches for key colours
- Target size, quantity and any deadline (season opener, event date)
- Age grade: general audience, or under-3 with embroidered features
- Any licensing owner we should confirm with (see FAQ)
What you get back
- A quotation within 1–3 days, with material and construction suggestions
- A turnaround drawing and, on approval, a physical sample in 7–10 days
- Photos of the sample from front, side, back and top
- A signed NDA covering unreleased mascots and rebrands
- Production photos at cutting, sewing, stuffing and final inspection
Sizes and Formats
Most programmes start with one hero size and add a keychain once the first run sells through. Each size is its own design with its own 500-piece minimum and its own sample.
Keychain · 8–10 cm
Clip-on mascot for giveaways, bag charms and impulse buys at the register.
Small · 15–20 cm
Gift-shop and bookstore staple; fits a mailer box for direct-mail campaigns.
Medium · 25–35 cm
The most popular mascot size: enough room for jersey details and embroidery.
Large · 40–60 cm
Premium collector and display piece; auction and VIP gift favourite.
Jumbo · 60 cm+
Statement pieces for lobbies, stadium stores and prize giveaways.
Also available as backpack clips, hand puppets, mascot-in-jersey sets, seasonal costume variants and blind-box mini series.
Details That Make a Mascot Recognisable
- Colour fidelity — fabric dye lots matched to your Pantone codes; lab dips available before bulk.
- Embroidered faces and logos — crisp lines, no small parts, safe for children under three.
- Jerseys, scarves and props — sewn-in for young audiences, removable for collectors.
- Weighted base — so it sits upright on a shelf, desk or dashboard instead of slumping.
- Hang tag and label — your branding, a QR code to your store, care and safety information for the target market.
- Packaging — polybag, header card, gift box or PDQ display, ready for retail or fulfilment.
Every unit is tested to EN71, ASTM F963 or CPSIA for the market you sell in, and passes four metal-detection checkpoints and a 20-person QC team. Read how quality is controlled on our factory page.
Mascot Plush FAQ
Can you turn any mascot design into a plush toy?
Yes. We work from simple logo characters to detailed mascots with multiple colours and accessories. Our design team translates the 2D artwork into a 3D pattern while keeping the features that make the character recognisable, and you approve a turnaround drawing and a physical sample before production begins.
What if we only have a rough sketch or a photo of our costumed mascot?
That is enough to start. We regularly work from hand sketches, photos of mascot costumes and even verbal descriptions with reference images. Our designers create the plush concept for your review, then build the sample.
How accurate will the plush be to our original mascot?
Very. The sample stage includes two to three rounds of revisions specifically to refine proportions, colours and expression, and bulk units are inspected against the approved sample. Where a detail cannot be reproduced at plush scale, we tell you at the drawing stage and propose an alternative.
What is the minimum order for mascot plush toys?
500 pieces per design. Different sizes count as separate designs, each with its own sample and its own 500-piece minimum, and we can schedule several sizes to ship together.
Can you make seasonal or limited-edition versions of our mascot?
Yes — holiday outfits, anniversary editions, playoff or graduation variants with costume changes and accessories. Limited runs are a proven way to drive repeat purchases, and 500 pieces per variant keeps the risk low.
Our mascot belongs to a league, university or licensor. Can you still produce it?
We manufacture licensed characters and marks only for the rights holder or an authorised licensee, and we sign an NDA on every project. If you are a licensee, tell us who the licensor is and we will supply whatever factory documentation their approval process requires; we hold Disney FAMA and NBCUniversal factory approvals.
How far ahead of our season or event should we order?
Count back roughly 10–12 weeks from the date you need stock in hand: 1–2 weeks for design and sample, 40–45 days for production, and 20–30 days for sea freight. Air freight or our 20–25-day rush schedule can shorten this when the calendar is tight.
